General Manager

Iker Val has been involved in Cannabis movement the last 25 years. He started to develop the Canabis Social Club concept in Basque Country Spain in 2000 year founding the fisrt CSC in San Sebastian Ganjazz Art Club, one of the first cannabis culture innovating spaces wich started to create mind lounges around the cannabis culture in Spain, as well Iker has developed an intense work on the cannabis policy reforms activism from the beginning of the century, he is been doing posite lobby on cannabis to influence on positive to the people that make the laws, forming part of the Board direction of the National CSC Federation, Basque CSC Federation, and Plattform Regulación Responsable. In 2012 he founded Renovatio Fundation, a non profit social cannabis research foundation , wich has publised multiple reports and books about the cannabis policies and developed during 7 years the International Cannabis Forum.

In 2018 he co founded Sovereing Fields in US with his partners and friends when the government regulated hemp federally, until 2020 he is the manager operations in the Sovereign Fields division in San sebastian Spain Europe, this division is focused on Pharma level and It has a research license on cannabis autorished by the National Health Agency, Iker Val has riched and shared multiple cannabis experiences and has a special vision about what the future has for the modern cannabis perspectives, once it becomes a global comoditty.

Concepción Tiana Ferrer

Quality Manager

Graduated in Pharmacy from the Complutense University of Madrid in 1977, with specializations as a Pharmacist Specialist in Industrial and Galenic Pharmacy (September 2000) and in Analysis and Control of Medicines and Drugs (March 2001). She also holds expertise in European Registration Procedures, certified by COFM in 2003. Since January 1, 2020, she has been collaborating with Sovereign Fields on their project.

With a professional career spanning over 40 years in the pharmaceutical industry, she has accumulated extensive multidisciplinary experience, particularly in the areas of Drug Registration and Quality. For a significant portion of her career, she served as Technical Director in various pharmaceutical manufacturing laboratories, where she was responsible for the implementation and maintenance of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Axel Moro

Technical Director of cultivation

Graduated in Agricultural Engineering, specializing in Horticulture and Gardening, in March 2018 from the University of Seville. He completed curricular internships at the Institute of Natural Resources and Agrobiology of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) in 2017, performing various tasks such as the bioremediation of pesticide-contaminated soils, the application of biological and chemical techniques, inoculations with specific degrading microorganisms and their consortia, and the use of environmentally friendly chemical techniques to increase the bioavailability of soil contaminants.

Daniel Gil

Agricultural Engineer

With solid experience in molecular biology and plant genetic improvement, currently pursuing a PhD program at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV). His academic background is distinguished by a Master’s in Molecular and Cellular Plant Biotechnology, a Master’s in Plant Breeding, and a Master’s in Agricultural Engineering. He is a registered member of the Official College of Agricultural Engineers and holds various certifications, including Crop Management Advisor and Pesticide Handler licenses.

Throughout his career, Daniel has been involved in research projects focusing on the phenotypic and molecular characterization of species in the Capsicum and Solanum genera, studying genetic and phenotypic responses to specific treatments, such as phosphorus deficiency and urea application. In these projects, he has developed RNA extraction techniques, sequencing protocols, and the design of specific primers, working under the guidance of renowned professors such as José Gadea Vacas and Sergio González Nebauer.

Guillermo Moreno Sanz

Crop Manager

Distinguished scientist with extensive expertise in cannabinoid pharmacology, particularly focused on the endocannabinoid system’s role in pain perception. He holds a PhD in Neurosciences from the Complutense University of Madrid and has authored over 30 scientific publications and 3 patents in the field.

His career includes significant academic experience, notably at the University of California, Irvine, where he made a key discovery of a new class of cannabinoid-based analgesics, which are currently under clinical development. Additionally, he has been a consultant for the National Academies of Sciences in the U.S. and played a critical role in their report on “The health effects of cannabis and cannabinoids” published in 2017.

Moreno-Sanz founded Abagune Research, a consulting firm providing scientific advice and research solutions for the international cannabis industry. He is currently the Global Scientific Director for Khiron Life Sciences, where he oversees research and development related to medical cannabis in Europe. His work has influenced the medical cannabis industry, particularly in advancing cannabis-based treatments for various health conditions
